We know our factory
Safety in the workplace
We condemn forced labour and child labour at all manufacturing levels. Every employee in Sri Lanka is a member of the company family and is treated accordingly. For us, employee satisfaction is comparable to customer satisfaction and this strengthens our organization in every respect. By promoting the development of individual abilities and flat hierarchies, we are best positioned for the future. Our production partner avoids overtime as much as possible and promotes the highest possible quality amidst modern working conditions. Discrimination is prohibited and open dialogue is welcomed in all instances, thus guaranteeing a humane work environment.
Safety in the workplace
Our partner, DSL Toys, operates using modern safety standards in order to ensure optimum safety in the workplace. Fire protection systems, equipment and alarms are maintained on a regular basis and emergency evacuation tests are carried out regularly. Electronic equipment and cabling are subject to the strict standards of the Ceylon Electricity Board of Sri Lanka. Entrances and evacuation routes are kept clear on the basis of house rules which must be observed by all employees. Correct lighting, air circulation and workroom care additionally ensure a comfortable work environment.
Sri Lankan standards and regulations are surpassed by our partner. For example, wages are three-and-a-half to four times higher than the minimum wage, and working hours are family-friendly. Both breakfast and lunch are made available to employees. While spacious dining rooms, changing rooms and sanitary installations are rare in Sri Lanka, with our company they are the norm. Drinking water is always made available. In the event of illness or accident, first aid facilities with an infirmary and care are available on-site. Vouchers for school and kindergarten are offered for children of employees.
Waste water, rubbish collection and water quality are maintained in strict accordance with state standards. The Environmental Protection License (EPL) is an annually renewable license awarded by the Board of Investment to companies that observe standards including, but not limited to:
Noise level of machines
Health and safety facilities checkup
Solid and liquid waste disposal
Drinking water report according to the World Health Organization
In addition, we maintain rigorous European and international standards in order to make our contribution to a better world.
